The Sunnydale HOPE SF project is a comprehensive redevelopment effort that includes the complete rebuilding of the existing Sunnydale-Velasco Housing Authority site. With approximately 1,770 residential units, including 775 replacement affordable units and 200 additional affordable housing units, this project is set to make a significant impact on the community.

VPI Quality Windows supplied high-quality windows for this project, ensuring that each unit benefits from superior craftsmanship and performance. Notably, our new 6" Deep Backset Frame is designed for standard nail flange installation without the need for multiple other components. With integral nailing flange location options at 1”, 1 3/8”, or 3 7/8” from the outer face of the frame, it can be used for exterior insulation, masonry, and sleek shadow lines. In masonry applications like Sunnydale HOPE, the Deep Backset Frame replaces exterior metal flashing with an extended frame, acting as a bridge from the sheathing to the brick. This eliminates the need for additional joints in the exterior envelope, which could lead to potential catastrophic water intrusion issues. For more details, you can visit our Deep Backset Frame information page.

Our Deep Backset Frame window also has a high Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating. These high STC ratings mean that our Deep Backset Frame window was the perfect choice to combat noise, ensuring a quiet and peaceful living environment for the residents on every elevation of the building.

As the project progresses, we are excited to see the positive impact it will have on the community. The new homes, equipped with VPI Quality Windows new Deep Backset Frame, will provide a safe and comfortable environment for residents, fostering a sense of pride and belonging. We are honored to be a part of this transformative project and look forward to continuing our partnership with all of the partners on this important project.
